Tractatus Logico Orgnosticismus

“This book will perhaps only be understood by those who have themselves already thought the thoughts which are expressed in it—or similar thoughts.”
— Ludwig Wittgenstein, Preface to Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus

Word “Orgnostic” is a portmanteau homograph.

As such, it bears two meanings.

The first and most obvious one is a shortened version of organizational diagnostics.

The second one is a derivative of the Old Greek word gnosis (γνῶσις, gnōsis, f.), that stands for knowledge or awareness — therefore, it should read as organizational knowledge.

Tractatus is Orgnostic’s team attempt to structure our own organizational knowledge. Inspired by Wittgenstein’s structure of thoughts, we wanted to create a document that will encapsulate our key ideas, learnings, and logical deductions that keep driving the development of our product and our organization.

“If this work has a value it consists in two things. First that in it thoughts are expressed, and this value will be the greater the better the thoughts are expressed.”
— LW, Preface to TLP

This document will be public, live, and will go through many revisions and versions as our organization grows. It will also be a testament to our changing knowledge and culture in the face of our future growth. We believe that such a transparent document will be valuable to our customers, partners, and future employees to understand where we come from, and where we are going. That being said, we will keep our Tractatus in a version control system to better track these changes as we evolve.

“Indeed what I have here written makes no claim to novelty in points of detail; and therefore I give no sources, because it is indifferent to me whether what I have thought has already been thought before me by another.”
— LW, PtTLP

Tractatus is not a literary work, nor a research paper. We don’t claim that the thoughts here are original. These words are echoes of our or other minds that we have collectively agreed to hold value for us. As such, they should and will be added, removed, and recorded as our minds continue to develop.
